Using Airtel prepaid? New voice-and-SMS-only plans are live
Bharti Airtel has rolled out three voice-and-SMS-only prepaid packs at ₹185, ₹203 and ₹206, days before TRAI’s 21 Oct 2026 compliance deadline. They’re also live on the Airtel website and in the Airtel Thanks app.
What you get on all three: unlimited local, STD and roaming calls, plus 300 SMS. HelloTunes is included at no extra charge. These packs are voice + SMS only, in line with the new rules.
Validity is the choice: 28 days, 30 days or a calendar month. Airtel lists ₹203 with 30‑day validity and ₹206 with calendar‑month validity; the third plan carries the same calling and SMS benefits.
Why this exists: TRAI’s September 2026 framework requires operators to offer voice‑and‑SMS‑only STVs without bundled mobile data, and to provide more flexible validity options.
What to do: if you only need calls and texts, pick the validity that matches how you recharge. If you want data, these aren’t the packs for that.
