Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Earnd (“Earnd”, “we”, “us”) is a personal-finance product for India, operated by Earnd. Reach us at hello@earnd.life. This policy explains how we handle your personal data when you visit earnd.life or join our waitlist, in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).

2. What we collect

We keep this to a minimum:

• Waitlist email address — when you join the waitlist, plus the date/time and which page or campaign you signed up from.
• Messages — anything you send us by email.
• Usage & device data (analytics)— pages viewed and actions taken (e.g. clicking “Join the waitlist”), device and browser type, and timestamps. No location is collected— your IP address is discarded on arrival, so none is derived from it (section 6).
• Cookies & local storage — a small number of entries for analytics and basic preferences (see section 6).

We do not collect your name, phone number, financial information, or government IDs on this website.

3. Why we use it

To add you to the waitlist and send early-access updates; to understand and improve the site; to answer your questions; to keep the site secure; and to meet legal obligations. We never sell your personal dataand don't use it for third-party advertising.

4. Your consent

We process your data based on the consent you give (e.g. submitting your email). You can withdraw consent at any time(section 8); this won't affect processing already carried out.

Analytics consent is asked separately and is not bundled with anything else — joining the waitlist does not opt you into analytics, and declining analytics does not affect your waitlist entry. See section 6 for how to give or withdraw it.

5. Who we share it with

Only trusted providers who process data on our behalf, under contract, to run the site and waitlist:

• Supabase — stores the waitlist database ([region]).
• Resend — sends waitlist / early-access emails.
• PostHog — product analytics (European Union).
• Amazon Web Services (CloudFront/S3)— website hosting & delivery.

We may disclose data if required by law. We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.

6. Cookies & analytics

We use PostHog for analytics. It sets one cookie and records which pages you visit, so we can tell what people find useful — never your name or email, and never for cross-site advertising.

We do not store your IP address. PostHog is configured to discard it on arrival, so no location is derived from it and none is kept.

It does not load until you accept it. We ask on your first visit, and nothing is collected unless you choose Accept. Declining is a real choice: the analytics script is never loaded and no cookie is set.

You can change your answer at any time using Cookie preferences at the bottom of any page. Withdrawing stops collection immediately and deletes the cookies PostHog has set. Everything else on the site works exactly the same either way.

We also store your answer itself on your device, so we do not have to ask again on every visit. That is the only thing we store without asking, and it exists solely to remember what you chose.

7. Cross-border transfer

Some providers (e.g. PostHog, hosted in the European Union) may process your data outside India. We use only providers with appropriate protection and transfer data consistent with the DPDP Act, which permits transfers except to countries specifically restricted by the Government of India.

PostHog is the only provider that processes website data outside India, and it receives nothing unless you accept analytics (section 6). What it keeps is limited to the pages you visited, your browser type and its own cookie — not your IP address, and not your identity. Everything you send us directly — your email, your name — is stored in India and never goes to PostHog.

8. Your rights under the DPDP Act

As a Data Principal, you have the right to:

• Access a summary of the data we hold and how we use it;
• Correct, complete or update your data;
• Erase your data;
• Withdraw consent — every email has an unsubscribe link, or email us to be removed;
• Grievance redressal via our Grievance Officer (section 12);
• Nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity.

To exercise any of these, email grievance@earnd.life. We respond within the timelines required by law.

9. How long we keep it

Waitlist email — until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, or until we launch and migrate you to an app account with fresh consent, whichever is earlier. Analytics — up to 12 months in identifiable form, then deleted or anonymized. We keep personal data only as long as needed or as required by law.

10. How we protect it

Reasonable technical and organizational safeguards — HTTPS encryption in transit, access controls, and reputable providers. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify you and the Data Protection Board of any breach as required by law.

11. Children

Earnd's website and waitlist are intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect children's data; contact us if you believe a child provided data and we will delete it.

12. Grievance Officer & contact

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves (including when the Earnd app launches). We'll revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, notify waitlist subscribers by email.
